SAFE2EAT 2026 - информационна кампания на ЕОБХ

From #EUChooseSafeFood to #Safe2Eat - the European Food Safety Authority and its partners in EU Member States return in 2026 with renewed commitment and expanded participation across Europe to empower consumers in making safety food choices with confidence, every day!

In 2026, Bulgaria, in the face of Risk Assessment Center on Food Chain in partnership with the European Food Safety Authority, The Ministry of Agriculture and Food and national partnering agencies will join the European family of countries involved in #Safe2Eat campaign to convince the consumers that “Regardless of how they choose their food, they can have confidence that it is safe to eat.”

The main focus of activities in the frame of the campaign will be on food additives and proper food handling with the key message:

“Food safety standards for EU citizens are among the highest in the world.” Make your food choice with confidence!

Who we are:

Created in 2011 as part of Bulgarian Food Safety Agency, and further established in 2016 as a separate independent body within the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Risk Assessment Center on Food Chain is the national authority responsible for the Risk Assessment on Food Chain and directly involved the risk communication in the field of food safety working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Bulgarian Food Safety Agency and other institutional partners.

Risk Assessment Center on Food Chain carried out an independent, transparent, trustful and scientific based risk assessment regarding food safety, human health, animal health and welfare, food additives and feed, genetically modified organisms, dietetic products, nutrition and allergies, materials and articles intended for contact with foods, food enzymes, flavorings and processing aids, biological hazards, contaminants, plant health and plant protection. Activities for approval, renewal and review of approval of active substances, safeners and synergists in terms of Regulation (EC) № 1107/2009 are also in the scope of competences of the Center.
